What was needed.
PacificIQ is a Shopify Premier Partner serving D2C and B2B brands at the Plus tier. Their retainer book had grown faster than their bench could comfortably cover, and the clients spanned a wide range: different stacks, different app mixes, and very different ideas of what “done” looked like. What they needed was a dependable pair of hands who could move between all of them without dropping anything.
I joined as an embedded consulting engineer for the year, working across 20+ active retainer clients alongside PacificIQ’s internal team. Most of the work was steady and unglamorous, and that was the point: day-to-day store changes and admin, app-stack configuration, conversion-rate optimization, and the integration glue that makes a particular mix of tools — Rebuy, ReCharge, Okendo, Klaviyo — actually work together. Every client was at a different stage with a different stack, so the job was meeting each one where they were, keeping the work moving reliably, and documenting everything so PacificIQ owned the outcomes.
